About Us

Our Story

The Ecuador Destination Weddings and Events Association was created with the purpose of strengthening the wedding industry in Ecuador and building a shared vision for growth within the sector. Since its creation two years ago, ABED has been envisioned as a collaborative platform that promotes professional development and positions Ecuador as a destination with tremendous potential. Recognizing Ecuador’s cultural, natural, and experiential richness, we understood the importance of gaining an in-depth knowledge of our destinations, connecting as an industry, and working together to promote them. Thus began a journey of education, exploration, and strategic partnerships that allowed us to discover and appreciate even more everything Ecuador has to offer. We took our first steps with professional training programs in the Galápagos Islands, explored different regions of the country, built connections among industry professionals, and began creating a strong and committed network. As a result of this work, we launched key initiatives such as the creation of the country’s first wedding planner directory and the presentation of proposals aimed at strengthening the industry.

Today, ABED continues to grow with a clear conviction: through collaboration, knowledge, and a shared vision, we can position Ecuador as a leading destination for weddings and events, both nationally and internationally.

We firmly believe that the true potential of our country can be achieved when those of us who are part of this industry work together, recognize the value of each region, and collectively showcase the diversity and authenticity that make Ecuador a unique setting for celebrations.

Mission

To drive the development of Ecuador’s wedding industry by connecting the best professionals in the sector and promoting the country as an attractive destination for authentic, flawlessly executed, and memorable celebrations, both nationally and internationally.
